Pakistan Wins 2nd Test Against Sri Lanka






Dubai, Saturday October 29: Pakistan took advantage of the weary pitch, when Saeed Ajmal secured 5 wickets in 2nd innings inspiring Pakistan to a 9 wicket win over Sri Lanka. Abdur-rehman and Junaid Khan took 2 wickets each. Tharanga Paranavitana(72) and Angelo Mathews(52) put some resistance against Pakistan Bowling attack in the 2nd innings, setting a target of just 94 runs.


Pakistan comfortably chased the target to lead the series 1-0. Muhammad Hafeez scored 59 runs, 5 boundaries including 2 huge sixes, and Azhar Ali scored 29 after early loss of Taufiq Umar(1).


Earlier in the 1st innings Sri Lanka scored just 239 runs while Saeed Ajmal and Umar Gul secured 3 wickets each. Pakistan then gave a lead of 164 runs when they were bowled out for 403 runs in their 1st innings. Azhar Ali scored 100 runs while Asad Shafiq(59), Younis Khan(55), Misbah-ul-haq(41), Adnan Akmal(41) contributed to the 1st innings lead.


The 3rd Test Match will be played on Thursday, November 3 at Sharjah.
