Bronchitis

Bronchitis is a disease of the air passage that leads to the lungs.Chest pain, low fever, shallow breathing, joint swelling (mainly feet & ankle), and fatigue are some of the signs.
The disease may be acute (short lived) or chronic (long lived) based on the cause.Acute is mainly caused by bacteria (Mycoplasma pneumonia) or viruses(flu viruses) and the signs include inflammation of air passages and secretion of sputum. Chronic bronchitis, on the other hand, is mainly a result of extensive smoking or air passage irritants while frequent coughing is the main characteristic.

"Bronchitis can be diagnosed by “pulmonary infection test” , by x-ray of chest , by bacterial culture test (for bacterial causes) and by the oxygen level test with the help of “pulse oximetry” ". It can be prevented by healthy living styles such as regualar hand washing, avoiding air pollutants and smoking. Smokers are usually victimized by chronic bronchitis while other people (children, youngsters or senior citizens) may acquire acute disease. Once it happens so, certain treatments exist such as,use of Inhalers (Albuterol sulfate and derivatives inhalers), Antibiotics(if the root cause were bacteria specifically), more intake of liquids or even aspirin for adults.
