If you have garage attached to your house never keep your car in it while the engine is running

Even if your garage  is detached, you should refrain from ever running your car in a completely closed garage . If you want to warm up the vehicle on cold mornings, consider an electric engine warmer or move the automobile out of the garage while the engine is warming.

When you drive your car into the garage , park it in front first, so the tailpipe is closest to and sends exhaust outside through the open door, rather than pumping it into the confined spaces.
After the car exits or enters the garage , leave the garage door open for several minutes so exhaust fumes can dissipate.
