Dell Focused on Windows 8 for Their Tablet
NUST
Dell has put their hopes in the windows 8 for the success of
their new tablet against the iPad. The CEO Michael Dell argues that contrary to
the predictions the Android slate market has not yet developed. Speaking at the
Dell convention this week he described the company as “very aligned with
Microsoft around Windows 8” and teased the public by announcing that they will
hear more about the windows * from them in the future.
As for the android Dell held off from dismissing Google as a
failure, however he did talk about the growth concerns of the Android. He said “Android
is certainly another opportunity as well, but that market has not developed to
the expectations they would have had.”
Dell switching to the windows 8 can be partly explained by
the fact that the windows 8 would provide a better experience for the users as
it will fit in itself the software already present, better than Android. With
the CEO pointing out that 3 trillion dollar industry that they are in holds a
consumer business worth 250 billion dollars. So he said that the company’s
prime attention is on providing the customers with complete solutions and
focusing on their needs rather than the company’s own interests. That being
said the Business Chief Steve Felice told us that the Android devices that they
have launched were produced in small volumes and the main purpose of their
launch was to see the customers’ behavior and reaction.
However the above in no manner promise success to the Windows
Phone. Rumors are that Dell cancelled their plans for a WP 7 handset and said
that they have no plans for their new devices running on the Microsoft’s OS, at
least for the time being.
