European IT Firms Admit Failure May Not Be Recoverable

74% firms and organizations across 9 European countries cannot fully  recover from an IT failure according to a survey.

The survey, conducted by IT group EMC, found that 54% had actually lost data or gone through a system downtime during the past year with the most common causes being hardware failure, power shortage and software anomalies.

The countries covered were UK, France, Italy, Germany, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Russia, Belgium and Spain.
