Eyesight Problems: What to look for when buying

It is very common in human beings, that they start losing their focusing ability, while approaching their 40s. When it comes to lens strength of non-prescription reading glasses, one has got to be very careful-stronger may not be necessarily better!

" A +3 pair of glasses is probably too strong for someone in their 40s and  may cause headaches", says Professor Sutton. "A more helpful strenght will be between  +1.25 and +2.25", Th e strength of the glasses determines at what distance the focus id best." In the same patient, a +1.25 pair might be perfect for the computer and a +1.75 might be better for reading or sewing".

"Once you hit 40, its important to have check-ups every two years with an eye specialist". adds Professor Sutton.
