In another one of its remarkable doodles, Google depicts the celebrated scientist sitting on her work bench.
Marie Curie, known for her pioneering work on radioactivity, was born on 7 November 1867 in Warsaw. Her husband Pierre, Curie herself and Henri Becquerel, the discoverer of radioactivity, were jointly awarded the Nobel prize for physics in 1903.
