HEC to Retain its Functions??

The federal cabinet issued a legal draft to HEC last month, stating  "eight out of 25 functions would be kept under the domain of HEC while the rest would be transferred to various departments".
It is being debated by all concerned authorities that this is an attempt to dissolve HEC , a repetition of History!
HEC responded the draft with its stance that all 25 functions are vital ones and hence must rest with HEC itself.


As reported by The News, "The draft suggested transfer of degree verification cell to Cabinet Division, control of public sector universities operating in Islamabad to ICT administration, foreign scholarship programmes to Foreign Affairs Division and the welfare of international students to Inter-Provincial Coordination Ministry"
