Hiring Without Advertising, Deserving Candidates Don't Get Chances

November 4, Lahore: The Lahore High Court (LHC) on Friday observed that appointments in the public sector institutions without fulfilling the essential requirement of advertising the vacancy in the press is actually seizing legal rights of other eligible candidates.

Justice Shiekh Azmat observed this while hearing a petition against the appointment of a retired army colonel Javed Iqbal as Director Administration and Co-ordination at University of Health Sciences (UHS). The judge took serious notice when it revealed that Javed Iqbal was appointed without advertising the post. He also said that the court would never remains silent on such violations of fundamentals rights.
