Incentivizing Education: Cash For Grades

DOHA, Qatar -- While motivating students to study hard is a problem that every parent and teacher faces, the UAE government has decided to incentive it by giving payment for good grades.

The Scholarship System offers a monthly stipend to students obtaining a grade point average of 3.6 or above, additionally specifying that students “be of good conduct and should not have been convicted of any offences involving moral turpitude.” The program however, is only for UAE nationals studying in approved universities and covers their tuition fees and living expenses.
