J R Martinez Wins "Dancing With The Stars"


There was so much hype on Tuesday night's "Dancing With The Stars" but by the time the dust settled, war hero J R Martinez and his partner Karina Smirnoff were crowned season 13 champions.

Two months back no one knew who is he, but these days the name J R Martinez evokes smiles, namely from the millions of Dancing With The Stars fans who have fallen in love with this Iraq-War hero, who survived from explosion while serving in the U.S. Army in Iraq in 2003. the explosion burned 40 percent of his body and required a grueling 34-month treatment.

He tells people that he considers himself blessed to have experienced the trauma. If not for the Humvee (hummer) he was driving hitting a land mine, “My life would not be what it is today: full of joy, happiness and positivity,” says J.R. Martinez, "I’m being blessed in so many ways, and it’s because of the energy I’m putting out in the world" he added.

In the Dancing With The Stars finale Martinez and Smirnoff rounded out the routines by taking another shot at a jive, and even though they had a few missteps, judge Carrie Ann Inaba said, "You are such a catalyst for joy whenever you get out on this dance floor." The judges scored them 28/30.

When just few minutes were left Martinez and Smirnoff were announced as the victors of the show.
