Dalai Lama Worried For Tibetian Nuns And Monks

With 11 cases of self-immolation by nuns and monks surfacing this year to protest against the 60-year old Chinese rule, the Dalai Lama remains apprehensive about the wisdom of it all.

While such acts certainly do require courage, their effectiveness remains questionable, says the Tibetan spiritual leader. "Courage alone is no substitute. You must utilise your wisdom."

China condemns the acts as immoral allegedly blaming the Dalai Lama for encouraging the campaign, saying that it will never succeed.
