Earlier in the first innings Sangakara scored 144 runs as Sri lanka put 413 runs on the board. Saeed ajmal took 5 wickets. Pakistan could score just 340 runs in their first innings lagging 73 runs behind. Younis Khan made 122 runs, while Misbah-ul-Haq played responsible innings for 89 (not-out).
