Parkinson's Disease

Parkinson's Disease is when nerve cells/neurons that control muscle movement of the body somehow lose their proper function. To be more specific, Dopamine production is somehow inhibited. Dopamine is a chemical in brain that plays roles in behavior and cognition ( attention, remembering, producing and understanding language, solving problems, and making decisions), voluntary movement, motivation, punishment and reward,  sleep, mood, attention, working memory, and learning etc. Symptoms of Parkinson's include trembling of limbs, face or jaw, stiffness or limbs or trunk, slowness of movement ,poor balance and coordination.

Patients of Parkinson's suffer problems such as depression, sleep troubles or trouble chewing, swallowing or speaking. Starting after age of 60, the disease is more common in men and has no particular cure though some medicines are available that help reduce the symptoms significantly.
