Students in Maryland schools are showing preference for healthier food, contrary to the general perception of kids loving junk food.
WASHINGTON -- Grants for salad bar equipment have been awarded to four schools throughout the state under Michelle Obama's “Let’s Move Salad Bars to Schools” program which aims to fund and award 6000 salad bars throughout the country by the end of 2013.
However, “when hundreds of students use the same serving spoons," says Chef Sheila Crye from Young Chefs
Inc., germs tend to spread more, and some students are more likely to catch "E. Coli, Listeria, etc. from raw
produce.”
