Survey reveals that eighth grade Taiwanese students are least tolerant to corruption in Asia. The study, carried out by International Association for the Evaluation of Educational Achievement (IEA), surveyed more than 140,000 eighth graders from 5000 schools in 38 countries.
90 percent of the Taiwanese respondents believed that ethics were far more important than abilities in politicians. Thai students, comparatively, were most tolerant to corruption in Asia.
Only 4 Asian countries - Thailand, Indonesia, Taiwan and South Korea - took part in the survey.
