LONDON: Alaa' al-Samarrai, an Iranian woman student leader, has claimed that Muslim students are facing problems in British universities due to the 'Islamophobic' attitudes of people there.
"One of the biggest challenges faced by Muslim students on campuses today are the implications of the extremism agenda, and the impact it is having on universities and the pressure on them to act and scrutinise their students", says al-Samarrai.
According to what she has told the Iranian news agency IRNA, Muslim students in UK face a lot of hindrances in practising their religion freely on-campus.
al-Samarrai believes that Muslim students should themselves speak up and exercise their democratic rights.
