Why This Injustice?

It was estimated that in 2010, 925 million people were suffering from hunger. Everyday almost 16,000 children die from hunger. That is one child in every five seconds.
In 2008 nearly 9 million children died before they reached their fifth birthday. One third of these deaths were due directly or indirectly to hunger and malnutrition. 178 million children under 5 are stunted, low height for age and most of them live in sub-Saharan Africa and South and Central Asia. However, this is not due to actual shortages of food or due to a sudden spike in global food prices, but is a result of political and social injustice and social and economic exclusion.

So next time when you eat, do clean your plate because there are starving children next door.
