Advanced Artificial Fingers

According to the US Bureau of Labor Statistics an estimated 94 percent of all non-fatal amputations involve fingers. And approximately 30,000 get their fingers injured each year, accidentally. The reasons, according to the National Center for Injury Prevention and Control are mostly, "a door slam" or "any power tools".

But here's some good news. Those with injured or lost fingers can have some natural function back." X-Fingers are the world’s first active-function artificial finger assemblies specifically for amputees. And they mimic your natural body parts and movements without any electronics."
X-fingers, the latest and most attractive artificial fingers invented till yet, imitate a human's natural body parts and follows their functions as well. The functions resemble the natural ones to a great extent.

Discovery reports, "The criss-crossing surgical steel levers (which put the “X” in X-Fingers), are actuated by responding to natural muscle movement in the remaining finger or thumb". According to Dan Didrick of Didrick Medical, creator of the X-Fingers and X-Thumbs," their patients are able to pick up coins, button shirts, tie shoes, type letters, carry buckets – even play the piano."
