Pakistan celebrate after taking a wicket

Mirpur, December 1: Pakistan chased a low target to win the 1st one-day international against Bangladesh on Thursday.

Pakistan spinners disintegrated Bangladesh's batting line-up and set them staggering to 31-5 before the whole team crumbled to 91 runs in their 13th score under 100 in ODIs.

Shahid Afridi claimed 5 wickets while every other bowler took a wicket. This was Shahid Afridi's 7th five-wicket haul in ODIs that moved him second behind Waqar Younis among Pakistani bowlers with the most five-wicket hauls.

Pakistan started the chase nicely as the openers added 36 in nine overs before four wickets fell in four successive overs for eight runs making Pakistan uncomfortable. Pakistan clambered as Afridi and Misbah's 30-run stand steered Pakistan to the victory.

Afridi won his 27th player-of-the-match award in ODIs, which is second only to Saeed Anwar's aggregate of 28 awards among Pakistan players.
