Book Review: Pride And Prejudice

Author: Jane Austen

One of the most cherished romantic tales of all times, Pride and Prejudice is a story of mind and manners.

"It is a truth universally acknowledged, that a single man in possession of a good fortune, must be in want of a wife" -- thus starts the story, with Mrs. Bennet fretting over the prospect of her new neighbour Mr. Bingley, a young bachelor "of large fortune", falling for one of her five daughters.
Of the Bennet sisters, the second eldest Elizabeth, gets to meet Mr. Darcy at a ball at Mr. Bingley's and finds him to be a man of highly distasteful manners, weighed down with pride and arrogance, with Mr. Darcy finding her equally unworthy of attention.
The story evolves as Elizabeth and Darcy both discover some feelings they would have considered extremely unlikely to exist and some habits in each other that surprise them both. How they come to be one of the most acclaimed couples of English literature is for you to find out. Happy reading!
