Christopher Paolini - Author Of Eragon - In Guinness World Records 2012

Guinness World Records officially recognized Christopher Paolini as the Youngest Author of a Bestselling Book Series at BookExpo America. Paolini was just 15 when he wrote the first draft of Eragon, and together with his family self-published the book in 2001. In August 2003, Alfred A. Knopf Books for Young Readers published Eragon and later the next two books in the series, Eldest and Brisingr. The series became an instant success, reaching a global audience, selling over 25 million copies. Eragon was made into a film in 2006.

The record itself will be published in the Guinness World Records 2012 Edition launching September 15th.

Paolini told Washington Post in an interview "It was really a personal challenge to see if I could write a book. I wasn't looking for publication. I thought maybe my parents would read it, maybe my sister. I wrote the first 60 pages of Eragon longhand because I didn't know how to type on a computer."

Its very rare for such a young writer to achieve this phenomenal success.
