Conserve Water at Your Home

The US Environmental Protection Agency declares that 14% of the total drinking water in circulation is leaked somehow and wasted.Saving this water will not only benefit the environment but also cut down your water bills.

In an article for National Geographic Magazine, Angela Brady, explains about certain measures that shall help achieve this. These include,:
  • Replacing in-ground sprinklers
  • Planting in ways that help soil hold the moisture
  • Replacing hoses with brooms for cleaning
  • Taking showers instead of baths
  • Running washer and dishwasher only with full load
  • Repairing all leaks in faucets, pipes and appliances 
  • Composting food waste instead of using the garbage disposal.
  • Installing low-flow faucet aerators and shower heads
