DEVIL FOUND IN ITALIAN FRESCO
An Italian art historian, Chiara Frugon working on the restoration of St Francis Basilica in Assisi has discovered the figure of a devil hidden in the details of clouds in a fresco painted by Giotto in the 13th century.
It shows a profile of a figure smirking with a hooked nose, and has dark horns hidden among the clouds in the panel of the scene depicting the death of St Francis. And it only becomes visible in a close-up photography.
