Fendi to Launch Infant Accessories

Rome-based fashion house "Fendi" is teaming up with Italian manufacturer "Inglesina" for a collection of baby accessories.

WWD reports that items including a stroller, pram and baby carrier have been designed in keeping with the fashion house's classic style.

Featuring the brand's iconic "F" logo and with a color palette comprising cream, mahogany and blue, the pieces will be available at selected outlets worldwide in 2012.

In 2008 Fendi teamed up with Japanese brand Aprica on infant items such as strollers and jersey-made animal puppets, and the news of their new collection follows an increasing trend for designer baby pieces.

While celebrity children such as singer-turned-designer Victoria Beckham's five-month old daughter Harper Seven Beckham are regularly spotted in labels such as ChloƩ and Stella McCartney, there has never been a more lucrative time for designers to branch out.
