Lucid Dreaming

Lucid Dreaming is when one is aware that he is visualizing an artificial situation and not in real time. Medically, it is considered best for health and humans psyche. It occurs rarely for some people while frequently for others. But according to one study it is an asset of people who observe polyphasic sleep cycles (see SDT article).

Wikipedia says, "In a lucid dream, the dreamer can actively participate in and manipulate imaginary experiences in the dream environment".

Why have Lucid Dreams?
Those who have experience, lucid dreaming has largely been claimed as the most wonderful experiences of their lives. One dwells in total freedom, doing/visualizing his deepest desires, restricted by nothing. One might think that this is a rather intellectual concept, but an ecstatic "rush" frequently arises with the first realization that one is dreaming.

Also, many people use lucid dreaming to rehearse for success in waking life.Examples include public speaking, difficult confrontations, artistic performance and athletic prowess. "Because the activity of the brain during a dreamed activity is the same as during the real event, neuronal patterns of activation required for a skill (like a ski jump or pirouette) can be established in the dream state in preparation for performance in the waking world."
