Manchester City beat Arsenal, United downs QPR


Silva celebrate with Aguero after putting Manchester City ahead

December 18: Manchester City once again showed their seriousness for the Premier League title beating Arsenal at Etihad Stadium on Sunday. On 56th minute David Silva broke the deadlock scoring the only goal to seal the victory.
Mario Ballotelli shoted fiercely to the goal and Szczesny made a decent save low to his left but the ball went into the six-yard box, where Silva stabbed it home.
Roman Pavlyuchenko scored the only goal for Tottenham Hotspurs as they climb up to third in the Premier League table.
On 61 minutes Rafael van der Vaart assisted Pavlyuchenko, substitute to Aaron Lennon who went out due to hamstring tear in the 26th minute,  with a through ball who right footed shot from the centre of the box to the bottom left corner.
Liverpool increased the tensions for the top four after defeating Aston Villa 2-0.
Bellamy scored the opener when Suarez shoted after Downing's corner but the ball bounced off the diving keeper and Bellamy poked it in. Just 4 minutes later Skrtel headed,on Bellamy's corner, from close range to the far post.
Manchester United beat Queens Park Rangers 2-0 in the easiest of wins at QPR.
Just 53 seconds after the start Rooney headed the ball into the net on  Valencia's excellent deep cross. United then missed a succession of chances
In the 56th minute Carrick scored the second goal to seal the victory. Barton gifted the ball to Carrick who was allowed to carry it 30 yards by a backpedalling defence before drilling beyond Cerny from the edge of the box to the bottom left corner of the goal.
