A Los Angeles psychiatrist, Lawrence J,Friedman, once said, "I am convinced that a great many of the divorces in this country are unnecessary. And its partly because TV teaches us simple solutions to complex problems. People tell me : "If only I could end this marriage, everything would be all right.'Nonsense!"
So instead of divorcing your family, divorce your TV set. When you cut down on Television viewing, you get more entertainment and pleasure from your children and your friends-and your mate. After all, sports psychologist Urie Bronfenbrenner, "the primary danger of the TV screen lies not so much in the behavior it produces as in the behaviour it prevents"
