Paris Museum Gets Rights To Bronte Manuscript

A Paris museum has won a bid to an unpublished manuscript by Charlotte Bronte at an auction of £690,850, outbidding the Bronte Parsonage Museum located at the author's hometown.

The work, which dates back to 1830, sheds important light on Bronte's literary development,  representing "her first burst of creativity" and "provides a rare and intimate insight into one of history's great literary minds," according to Dr. Philip Errington director of books and manuscripts at Sotheby's.

The magazine has six editions hand-written by Bronte, out of which four are already owned by the Bronte Parsonage Museum.
