Robots Now Closely Tied To Old Houses In Japan

If you had been growing old in Japan, you must have been planning to look for a robot as an old age companion.

As an increasingly crowded world reaches its seven billionth citizen, Japan faces the opposite problem - a shrinking population. The nation currently has 127.7 million people, with 23.2 percent of them above 65. And the old ones have to depend on a new kind of friend: robots.

A variety of companies in Japan are developing robots for providing physical or emotional help to the elderly or those caring for them.
