Simon Bolivar Honoured With New Coffin

19th Century South American independence hero Simon Bolivar gets honoured with a new coffin.

The diamond-encrusted coffin made of mahogany wood was unveiled by Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez in a ceremony marking Bolivar's death anniversary.

Chavez claims to have taken inspiration for his "Bolivarian" revolution from the 19th Century hero, who led a revolutionary war against Spain, winning independence for several South American nations including Venezuela.
