The demise of North Korean leader Kim Jong-il is surrounded by strange natural phenomena.
The ice on the volcanic Chon lake cracks making a heaven-shaking sound and a mysterious glow appears on a message carved in a rock on Mount Paektu which reads "Mount Paektu, holy mountain of revolution. Kim Jong-il."
Meanwhile, the South Korean intelligence agency is questioning the circumstances surrounding the leader's death. According to US satellite photos, there's no sign of the train, on which Kim is reported to have had a heart-attack, having ever left Pyongyang.
