A new study of chimps at the Fongoli research site in Senegal has documented interesting facts about Chimps. It was observed that they not only share meat and food but also the tools, honey and land with the female chimpanzees as a strategy for future mating.
“It may be used as a strategy [by the male chimps], anticipating a long-term gain on their behavior. We see that in baboons who have special friends.” says Jill Pruetz, anthropology professor at Iowa State University.
Well that sounds really interesting. Male chimps knows how to develop good family relationships.
