Tourists Spent 20% More in Poland This Year

Visitors to Poland spent 20% more than in the previous year. Germans are among the biggest spenders as well as return visitors.

The expenditure of tourists visiting Poland this year increased by 20 percent compared to the previous years, according to the Polish Institute of Tourism Communication. The average expenditure of foreign tourists amounted to $405 per person per stay and $80 per person per day, during the first nine months of 2011.

However, the positive results were not even since the amounts spent by tourists e.g. from France, Russia, Lithuania and Belarus went down. Austrians, Slovaks and Hungarians on the other hand spent more money when visiting Poland than in the previous year.

Germany represent about 43% of all foreign travelers. Germans traditionally spend considerably more on their holidays in the country, $344 per person per stay.
