Jonathan Ive, head of design Apple Inc., has been made a Knight Commander of the British Empire (KBE).
Sir Ive, as he's going to be called now, was born in Chingford in 1967. The son of a silversmith, Mr. Ive had an inherent love of making things.
He's been "the brains behind" many of Apple's products, and was "lauded for the tight fit between form and function seen in Apple gadgets such as the iPod and iPhone" (the BBC reports).
