Paris-based astronomer, Thierry Legault, has tracked the failed Russian Mars mission moving across the sky.
The stranded Russian probe, Phobos-Grunt, is seen moving left to right in a video made by the amateur astronomer using a sophisticated telescopic tracking system. It can be viewed on his website.
The spacecraft is expected to re-enter the atmosphere in the next 8-9 days, as it falls back to earth. It decelerates in its descent as it makes more and more impact with air.
