Bob Anderson, the Vader of The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi, has died aged 89.
A former Olympic fencer, Anderson was the man behind the light saber battles of one of the world's best-known villains, the Darth Vader of Star Wars.
"He was truly one of our greatest fencing masters and a world-class film fight director and choreographer and both the fencing community and film world will miss him," said President Fencing Academy Philip Bruce.
He later worked in other films including Die Another Day, The Lord of the Rings trilogy and The Legend of Zorro.
