Doomsday Clock ticks closer to midnight

Owing to inadequate progress in efforts to curb nuclear and climatic issues, The Doomsday Clock moves a minute closer to midnight.

The Clock, created by the Bulletin of the Atomic Scientists (BAS) in 1947, is a symbolic indication of nuclear danger.

The decision to change the time was made at a symposium held in Washington D.C. as global powers, including Pakistan, US, China, India, Iran, Egypt and Israel fail to act on the Comprehensive Test Ban Treaty.

According to Wikipedia:

"Reflecting international events dangerous to humankind, the clock's hands have been adjusted twenty times since its inception in 1947, when the clock was initially set to seven minutes to midnight (11:53pm).
Originally, the clock analogy represented the threat of global nuclear war; however, since 2007 it has also reflected climate-changing technologies and "new developments in the life sciences that could inflict irrevocable harm.""

The last time the clock moved was back in 2010.
