Dorothy of Oz (2012)

Dorothy of Oz is an upcoming film based on the book by Roger Stanton Baum by the same name.

The story -- Dorothy Gale returns to Kansas to find it devastated. Dorothy then finds a new way to get back to Oz, only to discover that her old friends the Scarecrow, Tin Man, Cowardly Lion and the entire Land of Oz, are all in grave danger. On Dorothy's new journey through Oz, she meets a man made of marshmallows who can't think for himself, a china doll princess whose bossiness is a cover for her fragility, and a tugboat with as many personalities as he has pieces. With the help of her new friends, they band together against a wicked Jester who wants to control Oz.

The film is directed by Dan St. Pierre and Will Finn starring Lea Michele as Dorothy Gale, Martin Short as The Jester, Dan Aykroyd as The Scarecrow, Kelsey Grammer as The Tin Man, James Belushi as The Cowardly Lion, Hugh Dancy as Marshall Mallow, Megan Hilty as China Princess, Oliver Platt as Wiser the Owl, Patrick Stewart as Tugg and Michael Krawic as Uncle Henry. Scheduled to be released on August 3, 2012.
