An Egyptian tomb in the Valley of the Kings is found to contain the remains of the female Egyptian singer Nehmes Bastet.
An inscription on the tomb tells us that Bastet, the daughter of the high priest of Amon, was a temple singer during Egypt's 22nd Dynasty (945 - 712 BC).
The coffin contains a "nicely wrapped" mummified body of a woman, says Professor Susanne Bickel of the University of Basel, which dates back to almost 3000 years ago.
It is the second tomb found in the Valley of the Kings after the discovery of Tutankhamun in 1922.
