Greece starts the new year with doctors and pharmacists out on strike.
The protests follow government plans to introduce changes to the healthcare provision in an attempt to lessen state spending.
The proposed measures include lowering the cost of medicines. which would save Greece 90m euros this year.
"The Panhellenic Pharmaceutical Association complained that social insurance funds owed its members 400m euros and said a 3% cut in the profit margin on medicines would harm them further" (BBC News).
Doctors are on strike till Thursday, saying they will treat emergencies only.
