I have a friend, someone we make fun of quite a lot. Bear in mind, there's no malicious intention behind it nor any demeaning attitude. It's mostly out of pure affection (and yes because we happen to enjoy it a lot!)
The problem is the negative effect that this behaviour has on her. She might laugh it off, but deep down there's going to be a fear of sharing stuff with us, a fear of being jeered at, no matter what the reason. And what is all this going to lead to? A low morale and a severe lack of confidence!
Not everyone's strong enough to derive strengths from everything good or bad. Most are but human, just human - those who flow with the current. Our responsibility here lies in a confidence winning, morale-boosting attitude, something that can make us more dependable - someone others can look up to.
So here's today's Pensive, focusing on a change in out attitudes towards others. Enjoy!
