Listening well

By Sarah Mahmood

Listening, as they say, is a powerful skill for effective communication - try interrupting the other person every now and then, and see how they react.

Many-a-time (referring to the God-blessed current affair shows that we have here), the 'interrupter' does so merely for the sake of achieving prominence and then eventually dominance over the rest of the group. What they forget however is one major fact: that out of pure irritation, the others will stop taking them seriously after a while!

For all out there, LISTEN if you want to be heard!

"I like to listen. I have learned a great deal from listening carefully. Most people never listen."-Ernest Hemingway
