Inspiration for Making the Hospital

In August 1984 Imran Khan mother, Begum Shaukat Khanum (late) was diagnosed to be suffering from cancer and that too in its incurable stage. From the best of the Pakistani hospitals to Cromwell (UK) the family went frantically any and everywhere where they saw hope but to no good. Begum Shaukat Khanum breathed her last in February1985 leaving behind a son who vowed to build a cancer hospital in his own home city that would treat cancer patients irrespective of their ability to pay, for he had witnessed the pain and agony of not only his mother but also of the innumerable other cancer patients he had seen in the hospitals of Pakistan.
