Ship shifts, search suspended

As the Costa Concordia cruse ship shifts, rescuers suspend their search efforts.

Twenty-three people are reported missing and 11 confirmed dead, after the vessel carrying 4,200 people, hit rocks late on Friday. Fears that the ship might slip further into deeper waters have led to a suspension of the rescue effort. "We are in the process of evaluating if it has found a new resting point to allow us to resume," the spokesman for the fire department Luca Cari said.

The ship's Captain Francesco Schettino is under house arrest on accusations of causing the crash and later on fleeing the site before the evacuation could be completed.
