Spanish bank BBVA to use the cloud

Spanish bank BBVA is switching it's computing to use Google's cloud services.


The tools offered by Google however, will only be used for internal communication keeping customer data completely separate from the cloud, the banking giant said.


The corporation faces the biggest challenge in tackling cultural issues. It intends to prepare its staff to to move onto the new browser-based services with the help of training programmes and personalized guides.


The goal is "to promote innovation and making decisions and increase productivity. We are in a challenging market and need to make faster and more accurate decisions... and eliminate duplication," said Carmen Harrenz, BBVA's director of innovation.
