Bus boss gives employees $16m bonus

The head of a sold bus company leaves his employees smiling by giving them bonuses worth $16m.

The staff were given bonuses averaging $8,500, the cash coming from the proceeds of the sale of the 66-year old Melbourne-based company. The amount of the bonus was based on the length of the service of each employee.

"A business is only as good as its people and our people are fantastic," said the boss, Mr. Grenda.

The employees were surprised by such a token of generosity, with one bus driver calling Mr. Grenda, as ''a generous person and a true gentleman''.
