Wayne Rooney scores twice through penalties as United come back from 3-0 down to earn a point at Stamford Bridge in breathless game. Manchester United haven't won at Chelsea in the league since 20 April 2002.
After 36 minutes Chelsea went into lead when Jonny Evans had put Daniel Sturridge's cross into his own net.
Fernando Torres didn't scored in this match but a minute after the break he layed a cross to Mata on the far post where he met the ball on the volley with his left foot and the ball screamed past David De Gea.
Mata then delivered a nice cross to David Luiz who headed as the ball took a deflection of Ferdinand into the net.
United's comeback started on 58th minute when Wayne Rooney struck the penalty right into the roof of the net after Sturridge bundled over Evra in the box. The second penalty penalty came when Welbeck tripped over the leg of Ivanovic and this time Rooney went to Cech's left to put United within one goal of another astonishing comeback.
Cech could only parry Rooney's shot out to Ryan Giggs on the left and the veteran crossed for the unmarked Hernandez to head straight through Cech.
Raul Meireles almost snatched it for Chelsea when he nodded Florent Malouda's cross over the top and De Gea produced two stunning stoppage-time saves to keep out Mata's free-kick and Cahill's drive.
Unites are now two points behind table leaders Manchester City.
