Facial recognition technology is about to take its initiation in the world of advertisements. An advert that uses facial technology will be played on a bus stop in London's Oxford Street on Wednesday.
The advert ensures the distinction between men and women allowing only females to see the ad. The advert is a part of "Because I Am a Girl" campaign commissioned by the children's charity Plan. The campaign is to support and motivate girls in the poorest countries to get good education.
Plan UK chief executive Marie Staunton said: "We're not giving men and boys the choice to see the full ad on this occasion - so they get a glimpse of what it's like to have basic choices taken away."
There are many criticisms raised against the advert but the company who designed the advert said that the system will not save any data it will detect.
