The Tragedy Of Priorities!
Respectful Dedication Dr Henry A.Kissinger
One Great Teacher!
Think what you may! Analyse as you wish! Education is as the true Sun of this Planet Earth. And lack of it as obvious as the sun rise. Education is optimism! Education is realism! It thrives and grows best where it begins it's glory in a highly regulated manner and over time merges with the demands of the market and time.
Only a very small percentage of the world grows up with a golden spoon in their mouth and in good times. For majority of the mankind, it is one hard grind to survive on day to day basis. The problems of getting a quality education in the developing world are huge. Education here means getting out of poverty, and both a floor and a safety net.
So, Education works only best when people have a choice and acquiring it is as simple and reliable as possible. If parents don't find these characteristics they have a strong urge to put their children to income. Adding to the family income is the first priority for any ordinary family, which is usually many mouths to feed.
The State priorities are not to be trifled with. And insecurity is a huge cost and draining. Therefore, any kind of a priority on Education is a doomed exercise.
Geoffrey Canada's Harlem children was a best work to eliminate poverty in Canada. President Obama's decision and execution to expand this model nationwide was one super gesture which has succeeded.
The world over leaders are struggling and battling priorities. It is happening and will continue to happen. The true battle between 'urgent' and 'important' will continue to wage. And the battle between 'morality' and 'pragmatism' will also wage on.
In fullness of time, reality changes. That is how mankind got so far and here! Many times reality and dreams converge. All depends on how the students face up to it and conquer it! Cleaning up after this generation of leaders would be some undertaking.
Looking and praying for New Icons, Good Night and God Bless!
